KEN KAUFMAN

Ken Kaufman retired in 2016 as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering at Dow Corning Corporation, after a 35-year career. Originally from the Detroit area, Ken and his wife Ellen moved to Midland in 1981 and later relocated to Traverse City upon his retirement.

In addition to serving on the board of Families Against Narcotics, Ken is actively involved in several community organizations, including co-chairing the Five County Substance Free Coalition of Northwest Michigan (SFC), serving as a board member for the United Way of Northwest Michigan, and acting as president of the Silver Lake Improvement Association. In 2019, with support from the SFC, Ken led the Prescription Opioid Prevention Initiative, a multi-year, multimedia campaign focused on raising awareness about the risks associated with prescription opioids.

Ken holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Wayne State University and an MBA from Central Michigan University.
