
Chris began his law enforcement career after graduating from Michigan State University in 2001. He steadily rose through the ranks at the Michigan State University Police Department, serving as a patrol officer, detective, sergeant, and lieutenant before being promoted to captain in 2019. He currently oversees the Investigative Division and also serves as the department’s Public Information Officer. Chris earned a Master’s Degree in Culture, Change, and Leadership from Cleary University.
Throughout his career, Chris has taken an active role in public safety efforts that focus on improving service and responsiveness. He helped launch the Special Victims Unit to better serve vulnerable individuals and developed the Community Care Unit to support mental health response efforts within the department. Chris values Families Against Narcotics as an important partner in addressing substance use challenges and believes in the power of collaboration to help individuals and families find answers and support during difficult times.
