My journey began in jail. I realized that the path I was on wasn’t working—and that I needed to make a major change. My probation officer offered a solution: Glass House. I took the opportunity, and there I learned how to forgive myself and push forward, even when it felt impossible.

After earning a certification through CCAR, I returned 18 months later to work as a residential technician at Glass House. I then moved into a support role at the main office and Safe Harbor, followed by a new position at Lifeboat. From there, I was hired to join a hospital-based team at McLaren’s emergency department. Eventually, I returned to Lifeboat in a leadership role, helping coordinate services across multiple locations.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come. It’s been over four years since I stopped using meth and alcohol, and today I own a commercial and residential cleaning business. I'm also in the process of buying a five-bedroom home in East Lansing. At one point, I never thought any of this was possible—but change is possible. I’m living proof that things can get better.
