Karen Wood is a dedicated and accomplished healthcare executive who has devoted her career to improving the health and well-being of underserved populations. Her 30 years of experience in public health and health care and extensive background in leadership and management within the healthcare sector has made her a respected figure in the field, particularly in the areas of regulatory compliance, nonprofit management, and community outreach. Since 2017, Karen has served as the Chief Executive Officer of MyCare Health Center, where she has been instrumental in driving the organization’s mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to underserved communities. The holder of a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, she will soon finish her Master of Science in Healthcare Management from Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business. Karen's career in healthcare began as a registered dietitian, working directly with high-risk populations. Her hands-on experience laid the foundation for her deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by underserved populations. She serves as FAN's board secretary, chair-elect of the Michigan Primary Care Association, board secretary of the Southeast Michigan Health Association, and advisory board member of the Lawrence Technological University College of Health Sciences.
