Chief Judge Jocelyn Fabry of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe oversees specialty courts focused on addressing the root causes of substance use and related challenges. She serves on several committees and works with FAN to share helpful information, encourage understanding, and support positive outcomes for individuals and families.

I’m a wife, mother of three sons, and grandmother to five. After a 28-year career in retail, I stepped away to care for two of my grandsons after they lost their parents. My oldest son passed away from a drug overdose, and that loss has inspired me to help other families who are navigating similar challenges.

I am a retired HR manager and also served as a business manager for a local hockey league. A lifelong resident of Chippewa County, I became involved with FAN after my son’s struggle with substance use and the heartbreaking loss of my granddaughter.

My name is Jenna Sanderson, and I work as a substance use counselor for Bay Mills Behavioral Health. I was inspired to get involved with FAN after losing my brother, whose experience with substance use disorder had a lasting impact on me. Through FAN, I hope to help others better understand the issue and connect individuals with meaningful resources.

My name is Kyra Hopson. I’m a mother, a person in recovery, and a Community Health Worker for the Upper Peninsula Maternal Opioid Misuse program. I became involved with FAN after losing both of my parents to substance use. Today, I’m focused on helping others who are working to rebuild their lives and move forward.

After spending 22 years in Arizona, I returned to Michigan and started a group for parents whose children were struggling with substance use. Although both of my sons are now in recovery, I remember feeling isolated and overwhelmed during that time. I joined FAN in 2023 and now help lead the "Stronger Together" group, which offers connection and encouragement for others navigating similar challenges.
