Face Addiction Now of Chippewa County was created in response to the rising misuse of prescription drugs in our area.
Face Addiction Now of Chippewa County was founded in response to the rising misuse of prescription medications in our area. In 2009, the Chippewa County Health Department and the prosecuting attorney’s office began tracking concerning trends and formed a task force to explore the issue. With the support of a grant, FAN Fraser visited in April 2013 and gave a series of presentations that drew strong interest from local residents.
Shortly afterward, a small group began meeting regularly to talk about how substance use had impacted their families and friends. Those gatherings were deeply personal and brought people together in powerful ways. That momentum led to the official launch of FAN of Chippewa County in June 2013.
Our group includes parents, grandparents, law enforcement, educators, healthcare professionals, and others who have been personally affected by addiction. Together, we aim to inform the public about the ongoing drug crisis and create a space where people feel supported and encouraged to take steps forward. We believe honest dialogue and local involvement are key to making a lasting difference.
