My name is Jenna Sanderson, and I’m the sister of someone who lived with a substance use disorder. I currently work full-time as a substance use counselor for Bay Mills Behavioral Health and have been in this field for about eight years. Like many in this profession, I was drawn to it through personal experience—growing up with an older brother who struggled with substance use and tragically lost his life to an overdose.

Through both my professional work and personal journey, I was fortunate to connect with FAN and become an active member of the Chippewa County chapter. Being part of this group has given me a way to honor my brother’s memory by helping others better understand these issues and access available resources. In doing so, I’ve found a sense of peace amid great loss.
