My name is Kyra Hopson. I'm a mother of two wonderful boys and a person in recovery. Since 2020, I’ve worked as a Community Health Worker for the Upper Peninsula Maternal Opioid Misuse program—a pilot initiative that has since expanded to multiple counties across the U.P. I'm also a certified recovery support specialist and a part-time student.
I got involved with FAN after losing both of my parents to substance use—and nearly losing myself as well. Addiction has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. Being able to walk alongside others who are facing similar challenges gives my life real meaning. I’m committed to helping people see that change is possible and that no one has to go through this alone. Today, I’m proud to be part of something that offers hope and forward momentum.
